A pharmacist combines individual ingredients as determined by a medical practitioner into specific dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, creams, gels, lozenges and more.  Women's International Pharmacy specializes in compounding bioidentical hormones into compounded prescriptions.

Yes, a prescription is required. Women's International Pharmacy, Inc. compounds or formulates customized dosage forms for individuals upon the request of a licensed practitioner. The individual ingredients may or may not be restricted to prescription items, however, anything that is compounded must be prescribed.

When working with Women's International Pharmacy, you are not
limited to just the commercially available dosages/strengths or forms.

As hormonal needs change or side effects occur, practitioners can
"fine tune" the dose of compounded prescriptions for optimal hormone treatment.

Compounded prescriptions can be changed to different formulations
to make it easier or more efficient to administer.  For example, if a patient has difficulty swallowing a capsule, the prescription can be changed to a different formulation, such as a cream, gel, etc.

Multiple medications can be combined into one compounded
prescription.  This approach not only provides convenience, it also often saves money over the cost of having to purchase multiple prescriptions.

Women's International Pharmacy is able to compound preservative-free and/or allergy-free formulations for sensitive patients.
